The strategy of the gallery is to organise exhibitions of Latvian artists’ works starting from the emerging of the national school until today. When preparing exhibitions of artists or directions approved in art history, the main principle for selection and exposition of works is to show valuable works from private collections to the general public. In order to cover a wider scope and to better reflect the overall context of Latvian art, the strategy of the gallery also includes promotion of contemporary artists by curating solo and group exhibitions.

Activities in the gallery are ensured by art historians Diāna Barčevska and Sniedze Kāle.
